Wedding Photographer James McConnachie
Professional wedding photography in Essex, Hertfordshire and London.
I have always liked photography and I think it comes from my grandfather Harry. When I was too young to understand he gave me an old film camera much like the sort used with war correspondents. I played with it and enjoyed just zooming and looking through the view finder.
Years later in the 90’s the digital revolution was beginning. I spent what I thought at the time was a lot of money on a 4 mega pixel camera, possibly the Casio qv10 or something like that. I was amazed I could take a shot, review it and upload it to my pc straight away without having to run to the shops for developing.
Time passed and technology just got better and better and the mega pixels are bountiful. Eventually I made the move to become a professional photographer and it has taken me all over the world. I did intend to just cover portraiture but every phone call started to ask if I could do something different and I don’t like to say no to any work that comes my way so all sorts of jobs were taken on at first. I eventually worked out which photography fields interested me and that’s where I increased my experience and additional training.
I do love learning new skills and methods in this field of work and have attended some good courses with some master photographers exploring light shaping and more. So besides wedding photography I like shooting products and baby portraits and also covering events as a journalist when required.
