I have been intending to write this post about the wedding at St Mary’s Church Addington village for a while but have been so busy.  Roy and Amy from Croydon booked me through a very good friend of mine for their special day.  I started the day at Amy’s house in the morning and captured her bridal preparation photography and then went ahead to the church ready for her arrival by car.

Halfway through the bridal prep a package arrived with some flowers from Roy.  It read;

“To my darling Amy.  Well our day is finally here and God knows we have waited long enough.  You are the love of my life.  I will do everything I can to make you happy and just to start.  A gift for you.  You get to tell our children they are going to America so you can see their faces.  Love Always, Roy.”

I can cover any wedding anywhere and sometimes it also has to be under tight conditions.  I love a challenge of sculpting a wedding and working with what I have.  This particular church was nice and large but also a little dark.  Also the church Vicar also asked for no flash photography taking away any extra chance of extra control.

One last final check that the rings have not been forgotten!

Amy finally arrives in a classic vintage.  It had started to drizzle but that’s not going to stop anything 🙂

The Giving of Rings

Heavenly Father, by your blessing let these rings be to Roy and Amy Louise.  A symbol of unending love and faithfulness, to remind them of the vow and covenant.  Which they have made this day through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen. groom puts ring on brides finger groom puts ring on brides finger brides first kiss brides first kiss St Mary's Church Addington Village tears at wedding St Mary's Church Addington Village

I was delighted to have been chosen by Barry & Julie to cover their wedding day at Waltham Abbey Church.  Julie knew what she wanted and after searching online and contacting me she explained how she wanted her special day to evolve.

The chosen package comes with an engagement photo shoot but they had just recently been blessed with a young baby boy so I suggested they come over for a white screen family session instead in my home studio.

After this we planned to all meet for their wedding rehearsal at Waltham Abbey Church to meet the staff and go through where I can photo from and where I cant go.  Its important to attend the rehearsal as you get a good idea of the layout and whether you can use flash or not.

The big day finally arrived and it all went really well and I loved the details of the church too and wasted no time in capturing their day.  Congratulations to Barry & julie! check a few of the images of the day below.

Of all the wedding ceremony venue ‘s, you cant beat a classic church setting in the middle of summer and as you can see above I captured one of the most classic wedding compositions.  The weather was perfect whilst I covered covering Sarah & Colins wedding ceremony at St James Church, High Wych.

The sun was at full strength and typically I had forgotten my water bottle in my haste to get to the venue!  but – what a good day for their wedding photography and celebrations.  The church was nice and cool inside long enough to complete the ceremony and was surprisingly large on the inside.  Below is a brief look over of the days wedding photography and I would like to congratulate them both and wish them all the best for the future, enjoy the photo’s all.

After the Ceremony

Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer

After the ceremony but before the Wedding Breakfast I like to use the time as much as possible. The church minister earlier had restricted me to the back of the church during the ceremony but gave me full use of the church.

I wasted no time in getting out my heavier lights and together we created this portrait session.  Sarah absolutely loved her shots…
